As part of the bicentennial celebrations in 2020, DTU introduced the DTUPlus mobile application for both Android and iOS platforms. The app was designed to engage users through an immersive and educational experience, highlighting Ørsted’s discoveries and their lasting influence on science and society.
The application features an interactive map, multimedia content (text, images, and sound), and curated stories that showcase Ørsted’s pioneering work and its close association with DTU. By combining historical narratives with modern mobile technology, DTU created an accessible, engaging, and impactful way to inspire curiosity and celebrate scientific innovation.
DTU sought to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Hans Christian Ørsted’s discovery of electromagnetism in a way that was engaging, educational, and accessible to a wide audience. The challenge was to create a digital platform that not only celebrated Ørsted’s legacy but also inspired curiosity about science among students, researchers, and the public.
